The Nandi County Government has issued a 60-day notice for the payment of land rates for the year 2026, calling on all property owners to settle their dues within the stipulated period.
In a public notice released by the County Department of Finance and Economic Planning, CECM CPA Alfred Lagat said the demand is issued in exercise of powers conferred under Section 15(3) of the National Rating Act 2024.
According to the notice, all private and public properties in municipalities, townships, trading centres, and leaseholds listed in the 2025 Land Valuation Roll will be rated at 0.25% of the unimproved site value across all zones.
The uniform rate applies to properties in Zone A, Zone B, Zone C, and Zone D, and is payable annually. The charges are provided for under the Amended Nandi County Finance Act 2026 and the Nandi County Rating Act 2016.

“The land rates levied by Nandi County Government for the year 2026 are due and shall be levied as follows as per the Amended Nandi County Finance Act,” the notice reads in part.
The county has warned that property owners who fail to pay within the 60-day window risk penalties.
For clarifications or payments, residents have been directed to visit their respective sub-county offices.
