Uasin Gishu County Woman Member of Parliament Gladys Boss Shollei has hit out at Governor Jonathan Bii following an incident where locals in Moiben chased her away
The incident happened on Thursday, May 21, as the National Assembly Deputy Speaker was in the area for the flagging off of milk coolers to farmers’ cooperatives.
Goons however disrupted the event, chasing away the legislator. In a media briefing over the incident, Shollei blamed Governor Bii.

“It is juvenile for such a thing to happen. Instead of hiding behind people, he (the governor) should come out and face me,” she said.
According to the legislator, she had joined the Ministry of Agriculture officials to hand over the milk coolers since they were purchased by the national government.
She claimed the county wanted to take credit of the project yet it was being implemented by the national government.
“This is a national government project and I was happy when I was informed that the ministry will be handing over the coolers,” she said.
“The project was started by President William Ruto when he was the Agriculture minister and if the county has ran out of projects to try and get credit for this one it should just say so,” she added.
