Kabarak University has formalized a significant partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Compassion International Inc. Kenya (CIK).
This collaboration aims to establish a robust framework for the exchange of expertise and knowledge, while creating pathways for the holistic development and education of young people.
The MoU was officially signed in the University Boardroom by Prof. Henry Kiplangat, Vice-Chancellor of Kabarak University, and Samuel Wambugu, National Director of Compassion International Inc. Kenya.

A core objective of this partnership is to facilitate the sponsorship of students from the Compassion Youth Group program into various academic and technical courses at both Kabarak University and its TVET Institute.
Following the formal signing, the event moved to the University’s Convocation Hall for the grand launch of a five-day program. This gathering brought together thousands of youths from Compassion groups across the country, marking the start of a week-long series of training and mentorship activities.
In his welcoming address, Prof. Kiplangat expressed profound gratitude and extended a warm welcome to the Compassion International team, led by Wambugu.
The ceremony was further enriched by captivating performances from various youth groups, including talented students from Kabarak University TVET Institute who are already beneficiaries of Compassion sponsorship.
The Vice-Chancellor also took a moment to congratulate Dr. Maina Waiganjo, the immediate former Nakuru City Campus Director and now Lead Director for the Compassion Youth Group at Kabarak University and KABU TVET, for his exemplary service and outstanding achievements.
Wambugu officially launched the program, underscoring its mission to provide comprehensive training and spiritual mentorship.
He emphasized that the initiative is designed to nurture young people into outstanding individuals and scholars, equipping them to thrive in institutions of higher learning while upholding a strong spiritual foundation.
