Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi is among 25 politicians that the National Integrity Alliance (NIA) wants to be blocked from participating in the August 9 poll.

The alliance on Sunday, May 22, 2022, released a list of the 25 politicians it said had been red-carded for having tainted integrity.

It revealed that it had already filed a case that seeks to block the 25, among them Sudi from participating in the general election.

The list, the alliance says, was generated from various investigative agencies’ reports, among them, the Office of the Auditor General (OAG), the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), Parliament and various cases before the courts both concluded and active.

With the 9th August 2022 general elections drawing closer, we note that various political formations have nominated candidates to vie for elective seats, and various individuals have also presented themselves to contest as independent candidates. Regrettably, a number of these political aspirants have tainted integrity,” the National Integrity Alliance said in a press statement.

Aside from the Kapseret MP, other notable names in the list include Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua who was picked as Deputy President William Ruto’s running mate, Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, Emurua Dikir MP Johana Ng’eno and Ebakasi East MP Babu Omwino.
