Media Council of Kenya, Kenya Editors’ Guild to Partner on Campaign for New Code of Conduct

The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) and the Kenya Editors’ Guild (KEG) are preparing to launch joint nationwide awareness campaigns to promote the newly adopted Code of Conduct for Media Practice 2025, to enhance professionalism in the industry.

The initiative seeks to familiarise media practitioners with the updated journalistic ethics following amendments to the Code of Conduct for the Practice of Journalism in Kenya, as enshrined in the Media Council Act.

Through this partnership, we will implement a comprehensive, centralised rollout of awareness campaigns for the new Code of Conduct for Media Practice, ensuring widespread understanding and also adoption to elevate journalistic integrity and professionalism across the sector,” said MCK Chief Executive Officer (MCK) David Omwoyo.

When will KEG Annual Editors’ Convention be held?

He spoke during a meeting with KEG leadership to plan the upcoming eighth Annual Editors’ Convention, scheduled for 26 to 30 November in Malindi.
