Construction of the Uasin Gishu County Aggregation and Industrial Park (CAIP) in Moiben has reached an advanced stage, paving the way for machinery installation and the start of value-addition activities at the multi-million-shilling facility.

The County Government of Uasin Gishu is stepping up preparations ahead of a visit by prospective investors on Wednesday who are keen to assess the facility and explore opportunities for installing machinery based on the park’s targeted value chains.

County Executive Committee Member for Trade and Cooperatives Dr Philip Chebunet, who toured the facility on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, accompanied by Directors Kipleting Mengich and Drucilla Cherogony, said the ongoing works mark a significant step towards operationalising the industrial park.

Importance of County Aggregation and Industrial Park

He emphasised that the establishment of the CAIP is aimed at transforming the local economy by promoting value addition, creating employment opportunities and accelerating the growth of the manufacturing sector.

The CECM said the facility will provide a platform for farmers and other producers to process and add value to their products locally, creating new markets while enhancing incomes and stimulating economic activity across the county.

The Moiben CAIP is expected to play a key role in strengthening Uasin Gishu’s industrial base by linking production, aggregation, processing and markets, while creating opportunities for investment and enterprise development.

Dr Chebunet said the county will continue working with the national government, investors and other stakeholders to ensure the facility is equipped and operationalised to deliver its intended economic benefits.

The project is jointly funded by the county and national government, with an allocation of Ksh 250 million from each of the two.
