Paul Boit Teachers, Students Help Needy Student from Munyaka Join Form One

A needy student from Munyaka Primary School on the outskirts of Eldoret town who was on the verge of repeating class 8 now has a reason to smile.

This is after students and teachers of Paul Boit Secondary school joined hands to make contributions that have secured his form one admission.

The student, Job Kamiti sat for KCPE in 2022 and scored an impressive 374 marks. He received an admission letter to Paul Boit High school but due to lack of school fees, his mother had suggested he repeats class 8.

However, the 14-year-old can now afford a smile after joint efforts from the school management and students saw Ksh35,000 raised for him.

The funds are enough to secure his admission and other basic needs. But they might not be able to facilitate his four-year education, and he is hoping the government will come in.

My parents are unable to pay my school fees and also to buy the requirements needed in school. I am hoping the government and other well-wishers will come to my aid,” said Job, after he secured admission to the school located in Turbo Sub County.

Repeat class 8

Selina Njeri, the boy’s mother admitted that she wanted him to repeat class eight due to lack of money so as to give her enough time to prepare well for the next admission.

As a parent, I have failed completely,” said the emotional mother.

When the boy’s plea reached the Paul Boit High School management, Chief Principal Shem Busolo says teachers and students made contributions that totalled Ksh35,000 – enough to cater for his basic needs for the year.

A parent at the school also offered to buy a box for the needy student.

As a school, we want to request well-wishers to come and assist this young boy to complete his four-full years,” Busolo said.

While his fee problem might have been temporarily solved, Job hopes it will not be something to bother him once a wellwisher comes to his rescue so that he can focus on education.
