Kesses: Cow Killed, Udder Chopped Off In Teldet

Locals in Teldet village, Kesses Sub County on Friday, February 10, 2023, woke up to a shocking incident after founding a cow killed and its udder chopped off.

Area senior chief Samuel Bitok says culprits might have committed the heinous act on Thursday night.

In an interview with Uasin Gishu News, Bitok said he received reports of the incident after which he proceeded to the scene of the incident with police officers attached to Kondoo Police Station.

The cow belonged to a woman known as Elizabeth Yator, a widow,” said the Senior Chief.

Our inspection of the cow shows that the udder was chopped with a sharp object. The cow had no other injuries and we did not find the udder,” he added.

Veterinary officers later arrived at the village and upon inspection of the cow, they ordered that it be buried.

No suspect has so far been linked to the incident that has left locals in shock.

The udder could also not be traced.

Neighbours who saw the cow say suspects might have suffocated it to death before chopping off its udder.

From the look of things, the people behind this incident suffocated the cow and after death, they removed the udder because the other parts were intact. There is also evidence that the cow was tied up,” said Felix Ruto a local.

The motive behind the bizarre incident is yet to be known.

Police have now launched investigations aimed at arresting the culprits for them to be brought to book.
