Pepea Programne March/April Intake Applications Open – Eligibility and How to Apply

The County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet has invited locals interested in studying abroad through its Pepea Programme to submit their applications.

The Pepea Programme, which is in its fourth year, allows students to study abroad under a 40 per cent scholarship.

According to posters shared by Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich, applications are open for the March/April intake in Australian institutions and the April intake in Germany.

Eligibility for the Australia March/April intake

For one to qualify for a March/April intake to an Australian institution, he/she must have a valid passport, a CV, a KCSE mean grade of C (plain) and above for an undergraduate course and an IELTS overall band of 6.0 as required by the Australian Department of Home Affairs.

A degree and diploma applicant must be 24 years and below, while the maximum age for a master’s applicant is 34 years.

Elgeyo Marakwet students applying to join Torrens University will get a 50% scholarship, while those joining the BPP Institute will get 40% scholarship.

Under the programme, the county government of Elgeyo Marakwet has already guaranteed the first-year tuition fee.

However, the parent is expected to guarantee the second year fee and pocket money totalling Ksh 4.5m (AUD 52,110).

A three-month statement is required, and two people can combine their statements (either the parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, sibling or spouse),” the county noted.

Requirement for Germany April intake under Pepea programme

  • Valid passport
  • CV
  • KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) for undergraduate
  • No age limit
  • 40% scholarship

No German language is needed. However, an online interview will be done by the school to test students’ English

A blocked amount of approximately Ksh 1.78m (12,000 Euros) in the applicant’s account is also required for 28 days as proof of living expenses.

An applicant is required to download and fill out an application form from the listed schools, attach all relevant documents, and send it to pepeaeverest@gmail.com.

Application for the above intake closes on January 23, 2026, to give four to eight weeks VISA application,” the county noted in the poster.
