Provisional Squad for Junior Starlets Ahead of Uganda Test in U-17 World Cup Qualifiers

Junior Starlets Head Coach Mildred Cheche has unveiled her provisional squad for the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier.

Starlets will face Uganda as they continue their journey toward global qualification.

Fresh from a 7-1 aggregate victory over Namibia in the previous round, Kenya heads into the next phase with confidence and continuity.

The squad largely retains the core group of players who delivered in that dominant performance, affirming the technical bench’s trust in a unit that has already shown cohesion.

The two-legged tie against Uganda presents a sterner test, with the first leg scheduled for May 22, 2026, at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba, kicking off at 4:00 pm.

Later, the return leg will shift to Nairobi, where the Junior Starlets will host the neighbors at Nyayo National Stadium on May 30, 2026, from 3:00 pm.

Despite the strong start to the campaign, the emphasis remains on staying grounded. The technical bench is keen on a step-by-step approach, ensuring the players remain focused on the immediate challenge rather than looking too far ahead.

With momentum on their side and home support awaiting in the decisive second leg, the Junior Starlets will be aiming to take another significant step toward World Cup qualification. The team is expected to enter camp on May 6, 2026.
