Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has presented an heartfelt donation to the family of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Natembeya delivered his donations to Raila’s family in Kang’o ka Jaramogi, Bondo on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
“Today, I had the honor of making a heartfelt donation of 15 bulls and 15 bags of maize to the family of the late former Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, at Kang’o ka Jaramogi in Bondo,” the governor said.

In a post on his Facebook page, the county boss said the gesture was a humble token of his deep appreciation for Raila Odinga’s monumental contribution to the nation, his lifelong pursuit of justice, democracy, as well as unity among all communities.
“As a political father, he nurtured leaders across generations and championed the bond between the Mulembe and Nyanza regions, a unity that remains the bedrock of our political and social cohesion,” Natembeya said.
How did Raila help Natembeya in 2022?
Raila played a key role in the governor’s election in 2022, when he convinced an ODM candidate in the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial race to step down and support Natembeya who was a Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) candidate.

Meanwhile, Natembeya said as Kenyans mourn Raila’s demise, he reaffirmed his commitment to carry forward his vision, working hand in hand with like-minded leaders to fulfill his dream of a united, prosperous, and just Kenya.
Political leaders from Rift Valley have also donated 80 bulls to the Odinga’s family.
The bulls were delivered by Governors and MPs from the region.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has also extended a similar gesture.
Raila will be laid to rest on Sunday, October 19, at the family’s Opoda Farm.
