Mwalimu Reuben Kigame has officially joined the People’s Renaissance Movement (PM) Party, marking a significant milestone in his political journey as he seeks to champion values-based leadership, national unity, and people-centred governance ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The reception, held at the PM Party headquarters in Riara Gardens, Nairobi, brought together party leaders, supporters, and members who welcomed the renowned educator, musician, author, and presidential aspirant into the movement.

The event also celebrated Timothy Kamau, the youngest candidate in the recently concluded Ol Kalou by-election, who contested on a PM Party ticket.

Although he did not win the seat, party leaders praised his courage and determination, describing his candidacy as a demonstration of the party’s commitment to empowering young people.

We believe young people are not the leaders of tomorrow—they are leaders today. They must be given opportunities to compete fairly, to lead, and to serve. We are proud that Timothy became the first candidate to fly the PM Party flag and remained in the race until the very end in what was a tightly contested election.” Kigame said.

For Mwalimu Kigame, joining the PM Party is rooted in a shared philosophy of Utu (Humanity), Haki (Justice), and Maadili (Integrity), principles that have defined his public life and leadership.

He has consistently called for the dismantling of corruption, the full implementation of the Constitution, and the empowerment of every Kenyan to actively participate in shaping the nation’s future.

Kigame believes these ideals are at the heart of the People’s Renaissance Movement and provide a strong foundation for building a just, prosperous, and united Kenya where leadership is measured not by power or ethnicity, but by character, service, and accountability.
