Saboti Constituency Member of Parliament, Caleb Amisi, has dismissed remarks made by Kakamega County Deputy Governor, Ayub Savula, that he will soon join the ‘tutam’ bandwagon after a series of conversations.
In a strongly worded statement, Amisi termed the remarks propaganda, false, reckless and intended to sow division within Linda Mwananchi and the United opposition.
“I have taken note of the unfortunate remarks and propaganda being circulated suggesting that I am engaged in conversations or political arrangements with the William Ruto regime. These allegations are false, reckless, and intended to sow division within those who seek genuine change in Kenya,” Amisi stated.
The vocal lawmaker and the founder of the Linda Mwananchi brigade fired a warning shot at Savula to avoid political speculation and to desist from making unfounded, reckless claims. He also raised concerns about his integrity and moral standing.
“Unlike you, some of us are well brought up, well mannered, well schooled, well cultured and highly principled. Ideology has been the bastion of my political journey,” he said and added, “Millions of Kenyans have made a conscious and determined decision. This struggle is too serious to be trivialised by unfounded accusations.”
Savula had revealed that broad-based government is working towards weakening the Linda Mwananchi movement.

Amisi further took issue with some unnamed political leaders who he accused of trying to micromanage young leaders while profiling them as government moles in opposition.
“My consistency in standing with the people cannot be questioned. While you were issuing shoot-to-kill orders and dining with the repressive regime during the Gen Z protest in 2024, I was in the trenches fighting against injustices, government excesses and police brutality. We sang ‘kufa dereva kufa makanga’. The opposition politics has not cleansed you; you ought to put on clean leadership regalia, and just as you obeyed table manners while in government, obey street manners too,” Amisi said, seemingly addressing Democracy for Citizens Party Leader, Rigathi Gachagua.
The MP, who is serving his second term, reiterated the need for unity founded on truth, integrity, and shared ideals, not suspicion, propaganda, or personality cults.
“Those who recently discovered the opposition must remember that many of us were already standing with Kenyans when doing so attracted persecution rather than applause. We therefore urge all who have joined this struggle to approach it with humility, discipline, and mutual respect,” he urged.
In addition, he bashed some politicians who are advancing tribal politics, urging them to learn from the Gen Zs movement.
“Their movement was leaderless, fearless, and tribeless. That spirit must not be sacrificed on the altar of old political habits,” he noted.
He further lauded the people of Saboti for entrusting him with leadership without looking at his ethnicity and background, even as he called on Kenyans not to be satisfied with the status quo and push for change.
