Safaricom Brings ‘Shangwe @25’ to Eldoret, Rewarding Customers With Incredible Prizes

Safaricom has launched its ‘Shangwe @25’ campaign in Eldoret that celebrates 25 years of connecting communities and changing lives in the country.

Over five million Safaricom customers will win daily and weekly prizes while supporting local development projects across the country during the company’s nationwide promotion.

The initiative will ensure that 25 customers each win Ksh 1 million, with an additional Ksh 250,000 to fund community projects of their choice.

Twenty-five small and micro-enterprises will receive Bajaj tricycles to help boost their operations, while 15 medium and large businesses each get KES 500,000 for projects meant to serve their community. Other prizes include airtime, data bundles, mobile devices, and festive surprises through the “Green Box” experience.

The Eldoret launch was part of the regional activations aimed at taking the celebrations closer to customers.

According to Kirubi, the initiative not only rewards customers but also highlights the company’s contribution to the local economies over the last 25 years.

He said Safaricom is using the milestone to celebrate customer loyalty while solidifying its community impact through meaningful engagements in every region. In the same spirit, several activities have been lined up across the country, where customers will interact with brand ambassadors, win instant prizes and get more information on how Safaricom products and services are transforming lives.

The Shangwe @25 campaign will continue its nationwide rollout through regional events and market activations.

He added that customers in the region will experience the campaign through activations in markets and towns across the Rift Valley.

To participate in the promotion, customers will have to carry out a transaction on M-PESA, purchase any data or voice bundle, or use services such as Lipa na M-PESA and Pochi la Biashara.

M-PESA agents who do deposit or withdrawal transactions of Ksh 1,000 or more will earn entries.
