Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat has condemned the brutal assault of Farid Kipngetich in Eldoret City, terming it as disturbing and unacceptable.
In a strongly worded statement on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Kiplagat said the images of Kipngetich after the attack were deeply troubling, noting that political hooliganism has no place in society.
“The disturbing images of Farid Kipngetich, who was brutally assaulted in Eldoret City, are deeply troubling and unacceptable. Such acts of violence, intimidation and political hooliganism have no place in our society,” Kiplagat said.

The legislator condemned what he termed as barbaric acts, saying no political differences should justify assault and intimidation of innocent Kenyans.
Kiplagat has now called on the Cabinet Secretary for Interior to direct security agencies to arrest the perpetrators and ensure they face the law.
What Soy MP wants Eldoret OCS transferred
At the same time, the MP has demanded the immediate transfer of the OCS Central Police Station in Eldoret to pave way for impartial investigations.
“The conduct of the OCS Central Police Station raises serious concerns that must be addressed. We demand his immediate transfer to pave the way for an impartial investigation,” he said.
According to Kiplagat, the handling of an earlier assault case involving former nominated MCA Edwin Misoi raised questions, with allegations of cover-ups.

He said circumstances surrounding the two cases must be thoroughly investigated and anyone found obstructing justice held accountable.
“The people of Eldoret deserve answers, justice and security. We cannot allow criminal gangs to terrorise our city under the cover of politics,” he added.
He further insisted that Eldoret must remain a city of peace and not political violence.
