Telecommunications giants Safaricom has advised members of the public to be weary of false job adverts at the company.
In a statement posted on their social media pages, Safaricom said they are not currently recruiting for any positions.
The statement follows links going rounds in social media platforms of purported job openings at the company.
“We wish to inform the public that M-PESA Foundation and Safaricom Foundation are not actively recruiting for any positions,” the company said in part of the statement.
It further noted that the two foundations have an established recruitment process, and that all vacancies are posted on Safaricom’s official website.
“Additionally, at no stage of recruitment process do we require our potential candidates to make payments of any kind,” the company said.
It further asked the members of the public to ignore any purported recruitment being carried out on behalf of M-PESA or Safaricom Foundation and to “avoid sending money or personal information to anyone claiming to operate in our behalf“.
Safaricom is one of the biggest companies in East and Central Africa.
It employs thousands of staff for various departments across multiple services that it offers.
