The countdown is officially on. Following the launch of the Kapsabet Half Marathon, the secretariat is now in a race against time to finalise preparations, calling on athletes to register before the April 1st deadline.
Led by Nandi Deputy Governor Dr Yulita Cheruiyot, the launch officially flagged off the 2026 edition, reaffirming Nandi County’s legendary status as the undisputed “Source of Champions.”
The event, which enjoys the patronage of Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, continues to stand as a flagship sporting spectacle under his leadership.

Recognised on the Athletics Kenya calendar, this high-altitude course is more than just a race – it is a proven launchpad for both elite stars and rising talent, offering a credible platform for identification, development, and progression to the highest levels of global competition.
Athletes eager to test their mettle on this storied terrain can register on or before April 1, 2026, either in person at the Eliud Kipchoge Sports Complex or online via the official registration link below.
This year’s event is driven by the powerful theme, “Run Clean. Run Green.” The mantra underscores a dual commitment: promoting healthy lifestyles and upholding the highest standards of integrity in sport, while championing environmental sustainability.

However, the marathon’s impact stretches far beyond the finish line. It serves as a significant engine for socio-economic growth, boosting sports tourism, supporting local enterprises, and fostering community cohesion.
More than just a race, it remains a vital avenue for nurturing the next generation of champions, ensuring Nandi County’s enduring legacy in global athletics continues to thrive.
