Buzeki Warns Uasin Gishu Voters Against ‘Political Projects’ Ahead of 2027 Polls

Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Zedekiah Kiprop Bundotich, popularly known as Buzeki, has issued a stern warning to the county’s political power brokers, urging voters to reject “sponsored projects” ahead of the upcoming elections.

In a video posted on his verified Facebook page, Buzeki accused a faction of political brokers of attempting to impose leadership on the electorate, comparing their current strategy to past political missteps.

“The same political racketeers who made Koti Moja their project and later claimed the project failed have now launched another one. They are pushing hard, breathing fire, and insisting that ‘it is only this person,'” Buzeki said.

He raised concerns over the accountability of political endorsements, questioning who ultimate responsibility falls on when leadership fails.

Buzeki warns Uasin Gishu political brokers

Directing his message to local brokers, Buzeki urged them to step back and allow the residents of Uasin Gishu to make their own independent democratic choices without coercion or manipulation.

“I want to tell these political brokers: please allow the people of Uasin Gishu to choose their own leaders. If you are seeking an office, campaign for yourself. Why do you want to carry someone else’s burden? Why do you want to be blamed for our suffering just because you escorted someone who does not know the job?” he added.

Additionally, Buzeki called on the electorate to take a decisive stand against political godfathers by accepting resources offered during the campaign period but voting strictly based on merit, policies, and personal conviction.

“To end this trend once and for all, I ask the voters of Uasin Gishu to put a stop to it. If someone is being escorted, stay quiet. Eat their money, but when election day comes, vote for the person who personally asked for your vote, presented their policy promises, and has the capacity to deliver,” he said.

“Let every candidate face the electorate directly, explain their agenda, defend their record and earn the confidence of the people. Otherwise, we may celebrate their election today and spend the next five years suffering from poor services, lost opportunities and leaders who cannot make decisions without consulting their political masters,” Buzeki added.

The businessman-turned politician is among aspirants eyeing to unseat Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim in 2027. Others are Tourism Cabinet Secretary Prof Julius Bitok and entrepreneur Willy Kenei.
