He described the truck as a product of “years of sleepless nights, relentless sacrifice, and honest hard work.*

Imagine the sheer heartbreak of watching years of your life’s work vanish in a single moment of lawlessness,” the MP shared on his Facebook page.

Because of the lawlessness during today’s uncalled-for Maandamano, my truck worth over KSh 20 million—an Actros 3340—was completely destroyed in Naivasha simply because the perpetrators identified that it was from North Rift as it had just safely delivered unga from Eldoret to Kanini Haraka Wholesalers,” he added.

The legislator elected on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket further claimed the attack was part of a coordinated incident of individuals targeting and monitoring vehicles and trucks from North Rift.

My heart is heavy and the pain is deep. Seeing the honest labor of citizens destroyed in an instant is utterly heartbreaking. In a single flash of senseless violence, livelihoods have been shattered, families have been left vulnerable, and the dreams and sweat of so many people have been reduced to nothing but smoke and ashes,” he said.

Several vehicles were burnt by angry protesters following the nationwide matatu strike.
