Eldoret: Entrepreneurs Asked to Use Recommended Scales For Fair Business .

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has called on entrepreneurs and the business community to work with the county weights and measures unit and the Scales and Software team to have the required scales for their businesses.

Speaking on Friday, May 10, 2024, during the opening of the Scales and Software Limited branch in Eldoret town, Trade Director Isaac Lagat said the correct scales will ensure that there is fairness and protection of consumers and producers across the markets.

As a County, we are looking forward to partnering with you to support our cooperators by providing them with the best and up-to-date scales needed for running their business,” said Lagat.

Lagat also lauded them for expanding the scales and software unit and for choosing Eldoret Town to enhance operations of entrepreneurs. The established unit is the only one in the North Rift region.

There’s also a need to capacity build the business community on the importance of working under some scaling standards for the protection of both sides in business” he added.

Scales and Software Managing Director Stephen Githinji said; “We are providing weighing services and that’s why we are advising farmers to bring their products and weigh at our various established weighbridges before making sales.”

The scales and software centre provides services including milk field collection system, milk reception weighing system, weighbridge automated system and industrial scales.
