Other vehicles previously reported as stolen have also been found abandoned.

But the police admit the syndicate involved in the car theft might be wide, given the rising cases despite recent efforts to curb the vice.

So far, two suspects, one from Vihiga and the other from Kakamega counties have been arrested and charged.

“Looks that those involved in this criminal acts are many because we have arrested and charged some of them but we still report cases of vehicles being stolen,” Ali told Uasin Gishu News.

The police are now asking members of the public looking for vehicles to purchase to ensure they do due diligence to avoid buying those that have been stolen.

“Vehicle owners and those planning to buy should ensure they have all necessary documents because if found with a stolen car, your money will have lost,” the police boss advised.
