ELDOWAS Announces Planned Interruption of Water Supply to Eldoret Estates

Several Eldoret estates will this week have an interruption of water supply from the Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (ELDOWAS).

The company, in a public notice, said the interruption will be for over a day, starting Wednesday, March 20, 2024. This is due to a planned essential routine maintenance.

This is to notify you that there will be a temporary interruption in the water supply from the Chebata Treatment Plant. This interruption is scheduled from Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 9.00 am and will continue until Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 9.00 pm,” read part of the notice from the company.

The interruption is to facilitate essential routine maintenance,” it added.

Estates that will be affected by the interruption

ELDOWAS listed estates that will be affected by the planned interruption.

They include;

  • Kimumu, University of Eldoret
  • Marakwet farm, Kapchumba, the upper parts of Maili Nne
  • Munyaka, Kapsoya, Action estates
  • Rift Valley Water Bottlers, Bio-Corn
  • Upper Elgon View, Eldoret Polytechnic, Annex, Langas, Racecourse, Kapseret
  • Chepkanga, Marura
  • Kamukunji, Mwanzo, Old Uganda Road

All customers around the above-listed areas and those along the Chebara-Eldoret Pipeline will also be affected.

In addition, ELDOWAS said during this period, the water bowser services will also not be available.

However, the other water treatment plants will remain operational to ensure the continuity of water supply to unaffected areas,” the company said.

It also apologized to its customers for any inconveniences that the routine maintenance might have caused and appreciated them for understanding.
