Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company Ltd (ELDOWAS) has announced a tariff adjustment for water and sanitation services.
In a public notice dated August 28, 2026, the company stated that it had revised its water and sanitation tariffs in accordance with Gazette Notice No. 13176 dated 14th August 2026.
“The revision follows a further review and the parties’ consent to arbitration before the Water Tribunal under Appeal Case No. E006 of 2025,” reads part of the notice posted on Eldowas social media pages.
The notice further stated that the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) had revoked the tariff structure published under Gazette Notice No. 12825 of 2024 pursuant to the Water Act.
According to Eldowas, the revised tariffs shall apply for the remaining approved tariff period 2026/2027 to 2028/2029.
“Customers are advised to take note of the revised charges as reflected in the applicable water and sewerage bills,” ELDOWAS said.
Approved ELDOWAS Tariff Structure
Under the 1.1 Water Tariff Structure for the period 2026/2027 to 2028/2029, Domestic/Residential consumers will pay from KSh. 84 per cubic meter for 1-6 units, KSh. 95 for 7-20 units, KSh. 110 for 21-50 units, up to KSh. 140 for consumption above 300 cubic meters.
Multi-Dwelling Units will be charged at KSh. 96 per M³.
Commercial/Industrial and Government/Institutions categories will pay KSh. 108 for 1-50 units, KSh. 115 for 51-100 units, KSh. 130 for 101-300 units, and KSh. 140 for above 300 units.
Public Schools, Colleges, and Universities will pay KSh. 88 for 1-600 units, KSh. 97 for 601-1200 units, and KSh. 109 for above 1200m³.
Bulk Water Supply is set at KSh. 60 per m³ and Water Kiosks at KSh. 88 per m³.
“Customers with non-functional meters shall be billed based on the average of the last three months’ bills,” notes the company.
New Eldowas tariff for sewerage services
For Consumers with a water connection, sewerage will be charged at 75% of the water volumes, billed at the rates specified below for all customer categories.
Domestic sewerage rates range from KSh. 63 to KSh. 110 per cubic meter.
The notice also states that disconnected water accounts shall be charged on the average of the last three months’ sewerage charges before disconnection.
Sewerage consumers without a water connection shall be charged Ksh 300 per month for single-dwelling domestic units, while for all other categories, it will be charged at 75% of the volume of water consumed as per the metered source of water.
