Elgeyo Marakwet County dominated across the board with outstanding performance in the North Rift Track and Field championship.
The county produced an impressive tally of 16 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 17 bronze medals.
Trans Nzoia County came second after securing 5 golds, 10 silver, and 2 bronze medals while West Pokot, Turkana and Samburu County emerged third, fourth and fifth respectively.
The championship which was held at Lornah Kiplagat Sports Academy, created a platform for the selection of the team that will represent the North Rift region in the Nyayo Stadium, National Track and Field championship this Month.
In addition, the athletes who met the cut to represent the region at the national level will have the opportunity to showcase their skills on a bigger stage and compete against top talents from across the Country.
The partnership of Elgeyo Marakwet County, Athletics Kenya (AK) North Rift Region and Veteran Lornah Kiplagat brought about the success of the event.
