The Eldoret Sports Development Centre (ESPODEC KENYA) girls football team ESPODEC Starlets has started preparations for the new season.
The Langas-based team plays in the FKF Upper Rift Regional League.
As part of the preparations, the team over the weekend played a friendly against Huruma Queens.
The game played at Pipeline Grounds saw ESPODEC Starlets emerge victorious with a 2-0 win.
Goals from the visitors were scored by Nancy Cherono and Brenda Kibet.
The team is preparing for the new League season scheduled to kick off later this October.
Last season ESPODEC Starlets were eyeing promotion to the FKF Women’s Division One Zone B League.

However, they finished fifth on the log missing out on the promotion.
Only top two team in the FKF Upper Rift Regional League game were promoted.
The two were the champions Kakuma Kalobeyei and Kapsabet Starlets who were second at the end of the league.
ESPODEC Starlets head coach Maurice Kamau admits his team lost focus as the league headed towards the end.
“We finished position 5 last season after we lost focus last minutes,” Kamau told Uasin Gishu News on Monday.
He is however hopeful that the girls will perform better this coming season.
The Footfall Kenya Federation (FKF) North Rift officials are expected to announce the start date for the new season for the league and number of team to participate.
