LIST: Amb. Bitok, Nixon Korir Among PS Nominees

Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate Amb. Julius Bitok is among 51 individuals that President Willia Ruto has nominated to sever as Principal Secretaries in various Departments.

Ruto announced the nomination of the PSs in a statement sent to the press on November 2, 2022, by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.

Prof. Bitok who lost to Jonathan Bii Chelilim alias Koti Moja in the recently concluded general election has been nominated to serve in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration as the PS State Department of Citizen Services.

Another notable nominee for the PS post is the former Lang’ata Member of Parliament who has been proposed to be the PS for Lands and Physical Planning.

Former Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir. He is among the PS nominees.

Korir lost the Lang’ata MP seat to former Radio Presenter Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o.

Dr Chris Kiptoo has landed a key Treasury PS post with several other PSs that served under retired President Uhuru Kenyatta also being retained.

They include Dr Bellio Kipsang who returns to the Basic Education PS post, Julius Korir who will be serving as PS Cabinet Affairs in the Office of the Deputy President, Charles Hinga (Housing) and Harry Kimutai who remains the PS for Livestock Development.

The nominees will be subject to vetting and approval by the National Assembly.
