As the clocks ticks towards the dateline for presidential and gubernatorial candidates to name their running mates, anticipation is building within Uasin Gishu County on who the leading governor seat candidates will pick as their deputies.
The race in Uasin Gishu has zeroed down to a two-horse – pitting Jonathan Bii Chelilim ‘Koti Moja’ and Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop ‘Buzeki’.
Eyes are however on Koti Moja, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominee for the seat.

There have been several names popping up as possible individuals to be picked by the politician who floored 7 candidates to win the UDA nominations.
Some of the names include former Kenyan ambassador to China Sarah Serem who recently hosted Bii at her home in Kapseret and Dr. Violet Chesang Lamaon.
However, it is the name Eng. John Barorot, a businessman that has featured prominently as the most likely individual to take the number two slot in the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial race.
To fuel the speculations even further, Eng. Barorot joined Jonathan Bii Chelilim ‘Koti Moja’ on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, as he paid a courtesy visit to Soy Catholic Church.

Bii posted photos of the two visiting the church, and immediately elicited mixed reactions from his Facebook followers.
“I paid a courtesy visit to Soy Catholic Church for spiritual rejuvenation. Together with me was, Eng. John Barorot and am truly grateful to the Church for the blessings accorded to us led by Fr. Kigen,” Koti Moja said.
He has not yet officially announced who his deputy will be, but it is just a matter of time before we know if it’s Eng. Barorot or someone else.
Here is how some Facebook users reacted to Koti Moja visiting a church with Eng. Barorot.
