ICT Authority Opens Applications for 350 Digital Talent Interns for 2026/2027 Cohort

The ICT Authority has called for applications for Cohort XI of the Presidential Digital Talent Internship Programme (PDTP), offering 350 young Kenyan graduates a 12-month placement in both the public and private sectors.

The programme, dubbed DIGITALENT, targets recent university graduates with a passion for ICT and Public Service. Applications close at Monday midnight, September 7, 2026.

According to the notice released by the Authority, the objective of the internship is to prepare young ICT graduates for employment by giving them workplace experience, mentorship from industry professionals, and a chance to build professional networks.

Interns will be placed in five key areas:

  • Network & Digital Infrastructure: 150 positions
  • Software Development & AI: 100 positions
  • Information Security: 50 positions
  • Data Analytics: 50 positions
  • Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing: 50 positions

Who can apply for digital talent internship

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be Kenyan citizens aged between 21 and 29 years
  • Have graduated in the last two years, from January 2024, with a First Class or Second-Class Upper Division degree in ICT, Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunications, or related disciplines
  • Be unemployed and not have previously undertaken a Government of Kenya internship
  • Be willing to be deployed full-time, 8:00am to 5:00pm, in any Ministry, Department, Agency, Corporation, or County Government across all 47 counties

Those awaiting graduation until December 2026 can apply with a recommendation letter from their university indicating they will attain First or Upper Second-Class Honors.

The ICT Authority says female applicants, persons with disabilities, and graduates from ASAL regions are especially encouraged to apply.

DIGITALENT: How to apply

Interested candidates must complete the online application form at https://digitalentgo.ke/ and attach the required documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
