Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim’s efforts to promote agricultural mechanisation in Uasin Gishu County have gained momentum following the launch of a new partnership to improve farmers’ access to modern farm machinery.
The partnership is expected to give farmers greater access to affordable and durable machinery while exposing them to modern tractor technology, technical support and practical mechanised farming solutions.

The partnership was launched on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the Uasin Gishu Agricultural Mechanisation Services (AMS) Grounds during the unveiling of the LOVOL TH 754 tractor, bringing together farmers, bank managers, transporters, machinery dealers and other agricultural stakeholders.
Speaking during the event, Director of Agricultural Mechanisation Services, Kenneth Kili, said modern machinery can help farmers reduce production costs, save time and improve farm productivity.

The initiative will also create opportunities for farmers, cooperatives and agricultural businesses to access financing for modern farm machinery and mechanisation services.
