Inter-University Students’ Workshop on Development of Mobile Apps

Students of the University of Eldoret are participating in a three-week intensive training and competition workshop on the development of mobile apps by the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM) through its Communication and Information Program.

The inter-university workshop kick-started at Moi University’s Medical Education Centre to empower 50 brilliant students from the University of Eldoret and Moi University in the realm of innovative technologies to solve various societal challenges and contribute to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Students from the University of Eldoret were selected from various Schools in the University through the Directorate of Research and Innovation and the Department of Intellectual Property Management.

The training is structured in three phases, beginning with the incubation stage which ran from 29th January to 2nd February 2024, followed by the development phase up to 15th February 2024 and finally the pitching and competition for student teams on 16th February 2024. 

The winning teams will receive prizes from KNATCOM and will be assisted further to protect their applications and launch them in the market. This unique program is designed to equip these talented students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the dynamic field of mobile app development. 

This workshop provides the University of Eldoret students with an invaluable opportunity to enhance their skills in mobile app development, empower them to tackle societal challenges and contribute to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Through this program, the students will also gain hands-on experience and guidance, and ensure that they are well-equipped to thrive in the rapidly evolving landscape of innovative technologies.
