Kapsabet Starlets beat Kakuma Kalobeyei 2-1 in the first match of FKF Women Division One Zone D League fixture played on Sunday at Mother of Apostle Seminary, Eldoret.
Ruth Musimbi opened the scores for Kapsabet Starlets in the 8th minute striking a volley passed the home team’s defense and custodian.
Kakuma fought back eight minutes later to level through Peter Akello’s shot to the far right hand side of the keeper.
But Prudence Inzai’s penalty in the 54th minute returned the visiting team ahead in a match played under mild rain.

Kapsabet’s coach Evans Koinange was delighted over the win having lost to the same side twice in last season’s North rift regional league.
“We played a worthy opponent and we are happy for having emerged victorious in the match,” he said.
Koinange also urged their fans to support the team for an interesting season in the third tier of the National Women Division One League.
“I appeal to our fans to be with us through this league, since as a team we are devoted to good results and I promise not to disappoint you,” he added.
First loss for Kakuma Kalobeyei
On his side Kakuma Kalobeyei’s coach Abdul Kudra said he discovered areas of weakness in his squad and would work on them in coming matches.
“We started well, the match was well played, we have found out why we played poorly and we are going to improve on those area,” he said.
Kudra admitted that his side is on the spotlight after a stellar performance in the regional league where they ended the season unbeaten.
“Any team can loose, it’s one of the results in football. It’s only surprising since this is our first lose since we started this team,’’ he added.
Both Kakuma Kalobeyei and Kapsabet Starlets were promoted to the FKF Women’s Division One Zone D League from the North Rift regional league.

The two sides return in action next weekend – both playing at home.
Kakuma Kalobeyei will be hosting Busia-based Chakol Queens at Mother of Apostle Seminary in Eldoret while Kapsabet Starlets will be at their Kapsabet Show Grounds playing host to FCK Queens from Vihiga.
