The employment will be done in two phases under the current financial year.

We have received approval to employ another 5,800 trainers in this financial year. Beginning March 2026, we will employ 2,000 trainers and another set will be employed in June 2026,” the CS said.

He also revealed that the new trainers will be in addition to the over 6,000 that the government recently employed, increasing the number to over 9,000 recruited by the current administration.

How much has the Treasury released to TVETs?

Meanwhile, the CS announced that Treasury had revealed over Ksh 2 billion meant to support TVETS across the country.

Aside from TVET funds, he also revealed that Ksh 7 billion has been released and channelled to public universities.
