Langas OCS Dies after Complaining of Chest Pains

Officer Commanding Langas Police Station (OCS) Phillip Karani has died.

Karani died on Thursday, March 20, 2025, a few hours after he complained of chest pains.

According to a police report seen by Uasin Gishu News, the OCS fell sick while in his office early on Thursday.

He complained of serious chest pains, the report noted.

Please be informed that today 20/03/2025 at around 1020hrs, NO 239126 C.I PHILIP KEGODE KARANI the Ocs langas police station fell sick this morning while in the office complaining of serious chest pains,” read part of the report.

The officer was later taken to hospital where it was discovered that he had a heart attack.

He was confirmed dead by doctors after failed attempts to resuscitate him.

He was rushed to Top Hill hospital where he was diagnosed with a serious heart attack the doctors tried to resuscitate him but unfortunately he succumbed while receiving medical attention,” noted the police report.

The body has since been transferred to Rescourse hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.

In addition, police said the Langas OCS’s family members have been informed accordingly of the death.
