Moi University has rescheduled the reporting date for all its first-year students.
In a notice posted on its website, the Uasin Gishu-based institution stated that the date change was intended to allow learners to prepare fully for admission.
“This is to inform you that the reporting date for first-year students has been rescheduled to Thursday, August 21, 2025, and not as earlier communicated,” read part of the notice dated August 6, 2025.
“This is to provide you with an opportunity to prepare fully for admission,” it added.
The notice was signed by Moi University’s acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof Khaemba Ongeti.
Meanwhile, the university asked the incoming first-years to apply for government funding through the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and a scholarship.
It said it would share every student’s programme’s fee and orientation programme in due course.
“We sincerely regret any inconveniences this change may cause and advise you to regularly check official university communication platforms for updates and further instructions,” the university told the first-years.

Moi University is expecting to receive 6,771 students who were selected to do their various degree courses at the institution by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
The institution has previously faced a drop in student enrolment following financial challenges that it has faced in recent years. The drop had worsened the financial situation, with the number going to below 5,000 new students.
