Mount Kenya University Announces 26th Graduation Ceremony Date

Mount Kenya University (MKU) has announced the date for its 26th Graduation Ceremony.

A statement on the institution’s website indicates that the event will take place on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.

It will be held at the Graduation Pavilion on Happy Valley grounds along Garissa Road and will celebrate students who have successfully completed their studies and qualified for various degrees, diplomas, and certificates.

University Chancellor Prof. John Struthers will preside over the ceremony, which will include conferring degrees and awarding diplomas and certificates to graduates.

The theme for this year’s ceremony, “Internationalization of University Education towards Development of a Competitive Global Workforce,” highlights MKU’s focus on global career readiness.

In anticipation of the graduation, Chancellor Prof. Struthers said, “This graduation marks a pivotal moment not just in the lives of our students but in the ongoing mission of Mount Kenya University to contribute a highly skilled and globally competitive workforce. It’s a time of pride and promise as our students move forward to make impactful contributions around the world.”

University Vice Chancellor Dr Peter Gichira added, “Our 26th graduation theme reflects the essence of MKU’s mission—to equip students with not only academic knowledge but also the critical skills and mindsets to thrive in an international landscape. We look forward to celebrating the hard work and dedication of all our graduands.”
