President Ruto to Tour Elgeyo Marakwet, Launch Several Projects Ahead of Mashujaa Day

President William Ruto is expected to embark on a two-day development tour of Elgeyo Marakwet County next week, where he will commission key infrastructure projects, inspect ongoing government developments and issue thousands of land title deeds.

The visit, announced by Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich on Friday, is scheduled for October 13 and October 15 and will cover the county’s four sub-counties of Marakwet East, Marakwet West, Keiyo South and Keiyo North.

According to the programme shared by the governor, the President will begin his tour in Kapyego Town, Marakwet East, on Tuesday, October 13.

During the visit, he is expected to commission the Kipkundul-Kapyego-Kamelei tarmac road, break ground for the construction of the Kapyego Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) Market, and officially launch the Kapyego Water Project before addressing a public rally.

A key highlight of the visit will be the issuance of 6,300 title deeds to residents of Rokocho and Kocholwo B areas, an exercise aimed at enhancing land ownership documentation.
