Locals within Eldoret City in Uasin Gishu County will have an opportunity to follow live proceedings of Raila Odinga’s final journey on huge screens.
Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, said the screens will be erected along the Zion Mall street for the residents to follow what will be happening in Nairobi and Kisumu on Friday and Saturday.
The state funeral service for the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is scheduled for Friday, October 17, 2025, at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

Kisumu locals will have the opportunity to view Raila Odinga’s body on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The public viewing in Kisumu, originally planned for Moi Stadium, has been moved to Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Mamboleo due to anticipated large crowds.
“We will mount screens at Zion Mall for Saturday and Friday events,” Sudi told journalists at his rural home in Kapseret.
On Sunday, the day Raila will be laid to rest at his Opoda farm in Siaya County, Sudi said they will set up tents and screens at the Eldoret Sports Club for the locals to follow the event.
They expect at least 20,000 locals will turn up to pay their last tribute to the former Prime Minister.
“We agreed with the governor that as others mourn in Nairobi, Kisumu and across the country, we also need to mourn in our own way. Not all will go to Bondo,” Sudi noted.
Was Oscar Sudi Raila Odinga’s close friend?
Sudi also revealed that Raila was a close friend, whom he had known from 2004 through his son, the late Fidel Odinga.

He described him as a father, a leader and a friend to him and many other leaders.
“Raila took care of us all. When he was the Prime Minister, I did a lot of work at his home and he became my father,” the Kapseret MP said.
The legislator further pointed out that even at the highest political tension in the country, including during the 2022 General Election period, he remained in close contact with the ODM leader.
