Government has for the last 10 years invested heavily in reviving Rivatex

RIVATEX Dismisses Reports it Has Shut Down over Kenya Power Bills

Rift Valley East African Textiles Company (RIVATEX) has come out to respond to reports that it has halted operations for lack of power.

For the last few days, there has been claims doing rounds on social media, indicating that Kenya Power had disconnected electricity to the Eldoret-based company.

RIVATEX depends on power for its day-to-day operations.

In response to the claims, the company run by Moi University termed the reports fake.

It noted that operations were ongoing as usual and that they were handling high volumes of orders and tenders.

We would like to address the false rumors circulating about Rivatex East Africa. Contrary to recent fake news, our factory operations are running smoothly and at full capacity,” the company said

We are currently processing a high volume of orders and tenders, ensuring timely delivery of top-quality products,” it added.

The government has for the last few years invested heavily in modernising RIVATEX.

However, the company has faced financial challenges and is yet to attain expected levels of operations.

But amid the current claims of closure, the company insists it “remains committed to excellence and continue to serve our valued clients with dedication and efficiency“.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Please ignore any misleading information,” it added in a statement on its social media pages.
