Ruto Responds To Raila Over Calls for Executive-Judicary Talks

President William Ruto has hit out at Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga who is opposed to dialogue between the Executive and the Judiciary.

Speaking in Trans Nzoia County when he commissioned the Kiptogot-Kolongolo water project, Ruto said Odinga is opposed to dialogue because he is among those who have been recruited by cartels to sabotage the government’s agenda.

I have agreed to have a dialogue with the Judiciary but I wonder why he (Odinga) is opposed to the dialogue and yet I recently accepted to dialogue with him through the National Dialogue Committee. Is he the only Kenyan?” Ruto posed.

The President said cartels through some unidentified politicians want to sabotage his administration’s transformative agenda.

You know those who are opposed to our plan because they have been recruited by cartels to sabotage us at the expense of our people. We are telling the cartels, the crooks and all the saboteurs shame on you,” he said.

Affordable Housing Programme

Ruto further affirmed that the naysayers will not deter him from fulfilling his housing agenda.

My housing agenda has so far employed over 120,000 youths and more will be employed through this programme and we are telling our friends in the opposition, please stop confusion and give us an alternative,” he said.

The Head of State also said despite legal challenges, his government will ensure that every Kenyan has access to affordable healthcare.

As soon as we dispense with the case in our courts, we shall implement our plan that ensures every Kenyan gets quality and affordable health care,” Ruto stated.

On his part, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa said Odinga is hiding on the veil of Judiciary independence.

You are now telling us you don’t support dialogue but we are telling you between the President and the Chief Justice and Parliament will engage in a dialogue that will ensure all arms of government work independently but interdependently in the best interest of our people,” said the Kikuyu MP.

Ichung’wa’s sentiments were echoed by MPs Robert Pukose (Endebess), Kakai Bisau (Kiminini) and Ferdinand Wanyonyi (Kwanza) who said Kenya Kwanza government is committed to uplifting the living standards of Kenyans.
