Youths from Uasin Gishu County have been challenged to take up procurement opportunities available in all public entities.
Speaking on Thursday while officially opening a two-day training to vulnerable groups that include Youth, women, and Persons With disabilities, Director Procurement Newton Choge challenged them to ensure that they get proper documentation while applying for the tenders.
He said most of the youths, women, and persons with disabilities have been disqualified in the tendering process due to lack of proper documentation and disclosed that over the years, the County Government of Uasin Gishu has not attained the required percentage due to lack of required documents and falsification of mandatory requirements and technological challenges.
On her part, Deputy Director Procurement Sarah Siambi asked the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) categories to always come forward and seek help whenever they encounter any challenge while applying for the tenders.
The trainees were taken through tender application through IFMIS, how to register companies/Enterprises, how to get AGPO certificate among other areas.
