A member of the Trans Nzoia County Assembly has come out to share details of their meeting with President William Ruto.
Ruto hosted almost all Trans Nzoia MCAs at the Eldoret state lodge on Sunday, January 3, 2026.
The meeting sparked mixed reactions from the county with some claiming it was part of the President’s plan to push for Governor George Natembeya’s impeachment.

But speaking during a burial on Monday, January 4, 2026, Sikhendu MCA Andrew Kutilila said impeachment was not part of their discussion.
What did Trans Nzoia MCAs tell Ruto?
Kutilila who is a close ally of Governor Natembeya said they used the opportunity to push for development projects in Trans Nzoia.
“We reminded the president about the projects he promised us when we visited State House with Natembeya,” the MCA said.
He named construction of roads, expansion of Kitale Town and equipping of the Wamalwa Kijana County Teaching and Referral Hospital as some of the projects they asked the president to support.

The MCA said when they visited State House in 2023, they had asked for the relocation of the Kitale prison to pave the way for the town’s expansion but the pledge has not been fulfilled yet.
Issuance of title deeds was another issue they requested the President to address.
“We reminded the President that Trans Nzoia like any other part of the country has a right to get development. Whatever he does in Kakamega, Bungoma and other parts, we also need to benefit,” he said.
Did Ruto ask Trans Nzoia MCAs to impeach Natembeya?
Kutilila however accused Kiminini Member of Parliament Kakai Bisau and Senator Allan Chesang of seeking to push for Natembeya’s impeachment.

The two legislators were present at the meeting.
“Some people are taking negative things to the President but if anyone thinks we will impeach Natembeya, they will wait for too long,” the Sikhendu MCA said
