Uasin Gishu Best Place for Investment: Governor Bii

/

Uasin Gishu County has made huge strides in the creation of a conducive business environment and investment requirements across the sectors for everyone to establish trade, Governor Jonathan Bii has said.

The county boss made the statement on Friday when he hosted a textile investor who is looking to establish a business in the county.

According to Dr Bii, the climatic conditions of Uasin Gishu favour industrial support. He also assured the investor of the county’s full support in the realization of their agenda that will see the establishment of a garment-making industry at the proposed Export Processing Zone (EPZ).

We have a huge number of investment opportunities and as a county, we are planning for an investment opportunities forum where all investors will be invited to explore these untapped opportunities,” he said.

Deputy Governor Eng John Barorot on his part lauded the investor for choosing Uasin Gishu as their preferred investment destination noting that once these industries are set up, many county youths will secure job opportunities.

We have serious youth unemployment not only in our county but the country at large and by coming in with these industries we will slightly solve the huge unemployment percentage,” noted Eng Barorot.

“We are basically in this county on a fact-finding mission on how textile industries are doing and already we are grateful for the laid down industrial requirements needed by every investor,” said an investor.

Rivatex Managing Director, Prof Thomas Kipkurgat, County Executive Committee Members Martha Cheruto (Trade and Cooperatives), Dr Abraham Serem(Health), Chair Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry(KNCCI), Trade Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui, Chief of Staff Nicholas Chepkwony, Director KNCCI Mr Ravi Shah and Director Kipleting Mengich (Enterprise Development) were among those present.
