The Uasin Gishu County Assembly second session has finally been adjourned sine die.
Assembly’s leader of majority Josphat Lowoi on Thursday, July 14, 2022, moved a motion of adjournment, technically signaling an end of the term of the current Members of County Assembly (MCAs).
The MCAs have served since they were sworn in after the 2013 general election.

By sine die adjournment, the County Assembly can still be recalled any time, should important matters arise that needs them to address.
This is contrary to previous tradition where ahead of the general election, all seats would remain vacant – including those of the Members of Parliament.
Both the National Assembly and the Senate have been adjourned sine die.
But before the Uasin Gsishu County Assembly proceeded on sine die adjournment, the MCAs had ealier passed a report from the Budget and Appropriation Committee on the recently tabled county budget for the financial year 2022/2023.

The report was tabled by committee’s chairperson who is also the Kaptagat MCA Jonathan Ng’etich.
Uasin Gishu acting County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Finance and Economic Planning Samuel Yego had on June 28, 2022, presented the budget statement before the assembly.
The Ksh10,170,995,231 budget, the last one for the current administration, is expected to be supported through Ksh8,068,858,318 from the equitable shareable revenue and own source revenue of Ksh1,400,471,851.
