President William Ruto remains the most preferred presidential candidate should an election be held today, according to the latest opinion poll released by Infotrak Research & Consulting.
The survey places Dr Ruto at 28 per cent, giving him a commanding lead over his closest challengers.
Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i comes second with 13 per cent, while Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka follows closely at 12 per cent.

Emerging as a notable figure among younger leaders, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino ranks fourth with 7 per cent, ahead of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who records 5 per cent support.
Veteran politician Martha Karua and former Chief Justice David Maraga trail the pack, each securing 2 per cent of the respondents’ preference.
The poll reflects shifting political dynamics as the country edges closer to the 2027 General Election, with President Ruto maintaining a significant national lead while opposition figures continue to jostle for influence.

Analysts say the relatively tight contest between Matiang’i and Kalonzo for second place could shape emerging coalition talks, while Babu Owino’s performance signals growing appetite for youthful leadership in national politics.
The Infotrak findings offer an early snapshot of the electoral mood, though observers caution that political alliances, economic performance and evolving voter sentiment could dramatically alter the landscape in the coming months.
