The Trans Nzoia Governor’s Super Cup has reached its climax as Youngstars, Saboti Sportiff, Sinyereri Queens and Small Tiger Ladies booked their places in the finals after tense semi-final clashes played on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at St Anthony’s grounds in Kitale.

Youngstars advanced to the men’s final after edging Wisa 1–0, with Dan Wanyama scoring the decisive goal.

In the second semi-final, Saboti Sportiff overcame Kiminini United 1–0 thanks to a first-half strike from striker Isaac Makale.

The men’s final will see Youngstars face Saboti Sportiff on Wednesday, December 31, at Luuya Primary School grounds in Kwanza, Trans Nzoia.

The match is expected to draw dignitaries led by Governor George Natembeya.

In the women’s category, defending champions Sinyereri Queens booked their place in the final after beating Sikhendu Ladies 1–0.

Small Tiger Ladies from Baraton joined them after edging Tuwan Queens 4–3 on penalties following a 1–1 draw.

Four teams booked their spot at the Trans Nzoia Governors Super Cup finals set for December 31, 2025.

Sinyereri Queens, who lifted the trophy last year, will battle Small Tiger Ladies in the women’s final on December 31 at Luuya Primary School grounds.

How much will Trans Nzoia Governor’s Super Cup winners get?

This year’s third edition of the tournament, sponsored by Governor George Natembeya, attracted more than 250 teams, including 50 women’s sides.

Both the men’s and women’s champions will pocket Ksh 1 million each while the second runners up will pocket Ksh 750,000..

The third runners up will walk away with Ksh 500,000 and fourth runners up Ksh 250,000 shillings among other prizes.

Speaking after Sunday’s matches, Trans Nzoia County Chief Officer Governance Sammy Sichangi accompanied by Communications Director Dr Felix Sialo, praised all participating teams for their discipline and commitment.

The players have shown great effort and discipline throughout the competition. Success in football, whether locally or internationally, requires discipline above all,” Sichangi said.

The officials also commended the organisers for their dedication in ensuring the success of the third edition of Governor George Natembeya’s Super Cup, which will conclude officially on December 31.
