Works on Jitume Uasin Gishu ICT Hub Taking Shape in Kapseret

Young people within Kapseret constituency and the entire Uasin Gishu County will soon have access to modern digital tools.

This follows ongoing construction works for the Jitume ICT Hub in Ngeria ward.

According to area Member of County Assembly Oscar Sudi, the ICT Hub, once complete, the ICT Hub will help bridge the digital divide in the region.

The construction of the Jitume Uasin Gishu ICT Hub is currently underway in Kapseret Constituency, Ngeria Ward, Outspan Sub-County,” Sudi said in a post on his official Facebook page.

The hub will provide residents with access to modern digital tools, training in technology-related skills, and opportunities for innovation, thus empowering the local youth and bridging the digital divide in the region,” he added.

The project is being coordinated by the Ministry of Information Communications and Digital Economy under the Konza Technopolis Development Authority.

Jitume is a government initiative aimed at providing the youth with access to Digital Services, Digital Skills, and Opportunities to enable them take advantage of technology for job creation.

How many Jitume ICT hubs are in Kenya?

Data from the Konza Technopolis Development Authority shows that currently, there are 143 digital hubs across the country with 36,847 users.

Jitume ICT hubs offer a wide range of courses in various fields, including business, technology, and creative arts.

The hubs have trained 13,153 youths out of which 118 have benefited from direct job linkages.
