Several schools nationwide continue to celebrate after registering impressive performance in the recently released results for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
The Ministry of Education did not rank the schools or candidates – maintaining the tradition introduced a few years ago.
However, Uasin Gishu News has listed some of the schools in the county that registered impressive results in the 2024 KCSE. Surprisingly, the top three are girls’ schools.
Which Uasin Gishu school had highest mean grade?
Moi Girls High School, Eldoret, remains the top performer, a position it has held for many years.
The national school posted a mean grade of 9.75, with 97.89 per cent of its candidates scoring the university entry grade of C+ and above.
32 candidates at the school scored straight As with 100 others getting A-. 135 candidates scored B+, 94 had Bs while 34 got B-.
Loreto Girls High School, Matunda regained its place of being among the best, registering an impressive mean grade of 7.8. 252 out of the 283 candidates scored a university entry grade.
11 candidates scored B+, 71 B plains, 100 B-, 68 C+, 22 C plain, 7 C- and 2 had D+.

Third on the list of the 2024 KCSE top performers in Uasin Gishu was Turbo Girls. The school had a mean grade of 7.755.
309 candidates who sat for KCSE at the school secured direct university entry grades although it had only one student with a straight A and two with A-.
AIC Chebisaas Boys, a national school was third with a 7.298 mean grade.
The school had an impressive 214 candidates getting at least a C+ with two having a straight A and 11 A-.
17 candidates scored a B+ while 42 and B and 67 with B-. 77 candidates at AIC Chebisaas Boys scored a C+.
Segero Adventist School mean grade
Segero Adventist School was the only private institution to make it to the top 5 best schools in Uasin Gishu. It had a mean grade of 7.11 with 169 students securing university entry grades.
While there was no student with a straight A at the Seventh Day Adventist Church-run school, 4 scored A-, 13 got B+, 35 had Bs and 50 got B-. Another 77 candidates scored a C+.

You are shining examples of the Segero spirit, and we can’t wait to see the great things you’ll continue to achieve!” the school said in a post on its Facebook page.
