BB Bread Stun Gor Mahia as Mozzart Bet Cup Magic Strikes Again

Mozzart Bet Cup Round of 32 produced another thrilling weekend of knockout football, with upsets, dominant victories, and several top-tier sides securing passage to the Round of 16.

The headline result came on Sunday, March 8, 2026, as giant killers BB Bread pulled off yet another famous upset, defeating heavyweights Gor Mahia 1-0.

The result adds another major scalp to BB Bread’s growing reputation in this year’s competition and highlights the unpredictable nature of the knockout tournament.

Which league does BB Bread play in?

Playing in the Nairobi East regional league, BB Bread had already stunned another top-flight giant in the previous round, eliminating AFC Leopards in the Round of 64, and their latest victory further cements their status as one of the tournament’s biggest surprise packages.

Their run is also proving inspiring as they follow in the footsteps of Compel, who in the 2024 season punched above their weight to reach the Mozzart Bet Cup quarterfinals, defeating Kajiado FC and Mara Sugar before eventually falling to AFC Leopards.

Elsewhere, Tusker FC knocked out fellow top-tier side Bidco United with a 2-0 victory, ensuring Bidco were the only league side eliminated in the Round of 32.

All other top-flight teams in action successfully progressed to the next stage.

Biggest wins in the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup

There were several dominant performances across the weekend. Ulinzi Stars recorded one of the biggest wins, thrashing Zoo FC 7-0, while defending champions Nairobi United produced the most emphatic result overall with an 8-0 demolition of BMC Allstars.

Former champions Bandari FC had to dig deep to edge Bumbani Stars 2-1, while Kenya Police FC comfortably defeated TBM Health 4-1. Shabana FC also impressed going forward, beating Muhoroni Youth 5-2.

FKF NSL side 3K FC also secured their place in the next round with a convincing 4-0 victory over Denmak FC, ensuring second-tier representation continues in the competition. Meanwhile, Gucha Youth saw their cup run come to an end after falling 2-0 to Chebaiywa Lions.

Other sides that progressed include Kariobangi Sharks, Kakamega Homeboyz, Posta Rangers, and Murang’a Seal, all securing convincing victories to book their places in the next round.

Meanwhile, Kuta Collections continued their impressive run after a narrow 1-0 win over KSG Ogopa. Their victory means they are now the only non-league side remaining in the competition, keeping the spirit of knockout football alive in this year’s Mozzart Bet Cup.

With the Round of 16 now on the horizon, teams will be looking to build on their performances as the race for Mozzart Bet Cup glory intensifies.
