The construction of the Uasin Gishu County Diagnostic Centre in Eldoret City is steadily progressing, with the project now 35 per cent complete as the County Government moves to strengthen diagnostic services and expand access to modern healthcare.
Clinical Services Chief Officer Ambrose Tarus inspected the ongoing works on Thursday, October 8, 2026, taking stock of the progress and assessing the pace of construction at the facility.
Speaking after the inspection, Tarus commended the progress made so far, while urging the contractor to maintain the momentum and adhere strictly to the agreed timelines to ensure the project is completed as scheduled.

Additionally, the Chief Officer said the Diagnostic Centre is a key investment in the county’s health infrastructure, expected to significantly enhance the capacity of public health facilities to provide timely and reliable diagnostic services.
“Once completed, the facility will further enhance the county’s diagnostic capacity, supporting faster access to essential investigations and complementing services already available across our public health facilities,” said Tarus.
The Diagnostic Centre is also expected to play a critical role in strengthening the county’s referral and diagnostic network, while reducing delays in accessing essential medical investigations.
Work on the project being funded by the County Government of Uasin Gishu, started in February 2025.
