The identity of a man whose body was found stashed in a metal box in the Kipenyo area on the outskirts of Eldoret town a few days ago has been revealed.
Locals in the area were on Tuesday, January 3, 2022, left in shock after the metal box allegedly dropped by a vehicle that had no number plate was later found in the box.
The body, according to eyewitnesses was decomposing and was of a man that had feminine clothing.
At the time of the discovery of the body, locals could not identify it.
But days later, it has now emerged that the body was of a popular fashion designer and LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba.
Chiloba was a well-known individual within Eldoret town and across the country.
His involvement in fashion designing and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) activisms has earned him a name in celebrity circles.
Details of the cause of his death remain unknown.
Police are yet to issue any statement on the matter.
But following revelations of Chiloba’s death, a number of LGBTQ activists in Eldoret town have since visited the Central Police Station in Eldoret town as they seek answers to the cause of his death.
Several celebrities have since taken to social media to mourn the death of Edwin Chiloba.
Some of them include popular actress Kate, Sauti Sol’s Savara, Makena as well as Michelle Ntalami among others.
